Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what FocusForge uses, what it does not use, how permissions work on Android, when cloud-backed features may rely on configured providers, and how users can request deletion of eligible account data.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the public FocusForge website, the FocusForge Android application, and related support, billing, deletion, and copyright routes linked from this site.

FocusForge is a blocking and accountability product. Some Android permissions are central to the service. This policy explains those permissions plainly instead of disguising them behind broad language.

2. Information we handle

2.1 Rule and session data

FocusForge may store information needed to operate the product, such as selected blocked apps or websites, schedules, session settings, progression state, and related product actions such as blocked attempts or focus-session events.

2.2 Account and profile data

If account-backed features are enabled, FocusForge may process user identifiers, profile settings, linked-account relationships, and other information needed to provide partner, family, progression, or cloud-backed features.

2.3 Billing and subscription state

If you subscribe through Google Play, subscription handling and associated billing records may be processed through Google Play Billing and the store systems tied to your purchase.

3. Android permissions and device access

3.1 Accessibility Service

FocusForge uses Accessibility so it can detect which app is in the foreground and apply the blocking rules the user chose.

FocusForge does not use Accessibility to read typed content, messages, media, or general screen contents. Its role is to help determine the active app so the selected rule set can be enforced.

3.2 Usage Access

Usage Access is optional. When enabled, it powers app-time insights and related usage features inside the product.

3.3 Local device processing

Many product actions occur locally on your device so the blocking system can respond quickly and reliably.

4. Cloud-backed features and service providers

Some FocusForge functionality may rely on configured providers such as Firebase and Google Play Billing. Those providers may process data needed to support authentication, sync, partner or family relationships, subscription handling, and other cloud-backed features.

Where a third-party provider is used, that provider may also be subject to its own terms and privacy documentation.

5. Retention and deletion

FocusForge retains information for as long as necessary to operate the relevant service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements.

If you request deletion of eligible cloud-backed account data, FocusForge will review the request and remove or anonymize qualifying data unless retention is required for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, security, or compliance reasons.

For deletion instructions, review the Delete Account page.

6. Your choices and controls

  • You can review this site’s policies at any time.
  • You can manage Android permissions directly in device settings.
  • You can uninstall the app, disable optional permissions, or stop using cloud-backed features, subject to how that choice affects service availability.
